In addition he was hired as a Brewery Advocate in the Colorado Front Range for Grand Teton Brewing Company, spending his weekends setting up and pouring at various beer festivals and working with their distributor to maintain brand presence in Colorado. BEER TENDER

Drinking free Comrade beer since the beginning

What is your favorite Comrade beer?
Superdamp IPA.

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
Amy Poehler, because even if I was drinking the worst tasting beer, she would be able to distract me enough to make me think it was the best thing to ever touch my lips. Because she is wise and hilarious.

Your favorite beer memory?
My favorite beer memory was my beer trip to California.  We drove down the pacific coast highway and drank at some of my favorite breweries, stopping at minimum 6 new breweries a day.

I fell in love with craft beer when…
I first moved to Colorado in 2007 from North Dakota.  My first beer experience was at New Belgium Brewery and my first “craft beer” was Fat Tire.  This is when beer changed my entire world for the better and I’ve been a beer snob ever since.
When I’m not at Comrade, I’m….
either hanging with my son, Daxton or drinking beer at various brewery tasting rooms, beer bars, or concerts.

Superpower IPA

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
Just one beer? I don’t know, Beethoven? Jorge Louis Borges? Maybe Maya Angelou, she just seemed so friendly, I think we’d have laughed a lot. But if we can have more than one I’d want to get drunk with Genghis Khan; the guy rode a horse from Beijing to the Crimean Peninsula at a time when most people didn’t know the world beyond the nearest well, plus he’s supposedly an ancestor, not that that’s anything special.

Your favorite beer memory?
My friends and I had a leftover keg we were transporting to a kick the keg party. Montana had no open container law at the time so we ended up cruising around in my friend’s Chevy Suburban grabbing people for the party and pouring warm foamy beers for each new passenger.

I fell in love with craft beer when…
I grew up in Missoula, Montana, my dad always had Bayern Brewing beer and my stepdad drank KettleHouse so I’ve always loved craft beer. High school parties in my town had kegs of Moose Drool. I was spoiled.

When I’m not at Comrade, I’m…
Sleeping; cooking; eating; adding mods to Skyrim and overclocking my computer incrementally; drinking at some dive bar maybe or out listening to music.

What is your favorite Comrade beer?
That’s a toss up between Quit Stalin and the Superpower. Superpower is a classic go-to, but for this time of year I’m all about imperial stouts! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
Obi Wan. I’ve always wanted to be a jedi…might as well learn from a master.

Your favorite beer memory?
Seeing David and Marks win silver for Superdamp at the 2014 GABF. Booya!

I fell in love with craft beer when….
I had my first craft beer at the fresh age of 21. No really! As a student at CU I was accustomed to drinking the cheapest of cheap beer(that beer shall remain somewhat incognito) and then one glorious bar-hopping night my life was forever changed. It was Mama’s Yella Pils at the Corner Bar of the Hotel Boulderado with one of my best friends. Looking back, I am amazed at how much craft beer has shaped my life these last few years… so thankful that night led me here.

When I’m not at Comrade, I’m…
having a snuggle sesh with my pup, shreddin the gnar gnar, hanging with the fam, doing a handstand, or eating pho.

What is your favorite Comrade beer?
Defcon Red Irish Red Ale is definitely my favorite of the house beers, but the Bernstein and the Quit Stalin are also common sippers.

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
I always imagined that having a beer with Troy Duffy, the director of The Boondock Saints films would be a solid experience.

Your favorite beer memory?
After leaving Comrade one day I got a call from the brewery as I was walking through the door of my apartment. On the other end of the line was a pleading voice asking me how to tap a keg. I will not disclose names but I am quite proud that I was able to successful explain over the phone how to tap a keg to someone who had apparently never done so before.

I fell in love with craft beer when…
I had my first Magic Hat #9 in college. After I came to realize just how many different beers styles, flavors, and variations there were out there and that I had to experience as many different ones as I could in my lifetime.

When I’m not at Comrade, I’m…
either relaxing at home, reading or messing around online on my PS4 with my brothers who live out on the east coast, checking out a movie, or exploring Denver and its surrounding nearby cities by way of checking out other breweries and tap houses.

What is your favorite Comrade beer?
Superpower IPA

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
I would really enjoy having a beer with Bill Murray. You would never know where the conversation would go. Also, I imagine laughing a lot.

Your favorite beer memory?
My brother bribing me with a six-pack to not tell our parents that he was having a party. I drank my first beer that night while playing Mario Kart.

I fell in love with craft beer when….
I was at a graduation party and my friend gave me an Alaskan IPA. Ever since, I have been exploring breweries and enjoying great beer.

When I am not at Comrade I’m…
I‘m playing volleyball, hiking, golfing, or getting off my feet and watching a movie.

Superpower and whichever installment of Honeyman is available.

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
Homer Simpson at a sports event, because I wanna be a nacho man.

Your favorite beer memory?
Drinking Mickey’s grenades, watching the sunset in Hawaii.

I fell in love with craft beer when….
For my 21st birthday my dad took me to the New Belgium brewery and bought a stove top homebrew kit, haven’t looked back since.

When I am not at Comrade I’m…
I’m enjoying the amazing craft beer Colorado has to offer, gardening, playing golf, going to concerts, making dinner, or playing games in my underwear.

What is your favorite Comrade beer?
I love the punch of the Junkie Cosmonaut and drink it whenever I can, but the Irish Red is like sinking into a cozy couch.

If you could have a beer with anybody, who would it be?
David Bowie, hands down. A roller coaster life where he was always learning and adapting. Also, I am a bit of a fashion whore

Your favorite beer memory?
My birthday in San Francisco at a grandiose restaurant. eating poached fingerling potatoes and arctic ice plant. It was paired with a Hitochino Nest Ale. The acidity of the ice plant paired with the smooth tiny bubbles and richness of the ale. It was so damned fancy!

I fell in love with craft beer when….
After a twelve hour drive I pulled into Denver, and into ComradeI walked into a bunch of warmth and laughter. Ben, an old friend of mine, handed me a mop and a Superpower. And here we are.

When I am not at Comrade I’m…
Trying to avoid sunlight; being a fancy nerd; pairing wine; making cocktails; traveling. I like people, I like comedy, and I like learning new things.
